The Sustainability Roundtable is a citizens’ group committed to encouraging sustainability in land use and other planning for Thurston County. TRPC Regional Plan for Sustainable Development Project Stimulated by the initiation of the Thurston Regional Planning Council’s Sustainable Development project, the Sustainability Roundtable is dedicated to providing resources to the Thurston County community to optimize sustainable development practices. Our members will participate in the TRPC project and will provide a clearinghouse of resources through the establishment and developmentof this web site and enlarging our membership base. Sustainability Summit April 14, 2012 The Sustainability Roundtable, League of Women Voters, Transition Oympia and others are co-sponsoring a sustainability summit from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on April 14. Keynote speaker David Korten, co-founder of YES magazine and author of The Great Turning, Agenda for a New Economy, The Post-Corporate World, and When Corporations Rule the World, will provide a framework for creating connected, resilient, Main Street communities in response to climate change, peak oil, and global economic disruption. There will be opportunities to discuss issues in depth with other participants, panel discussions by local experts on our local economy, food security, water and energy use, transportation and land use.
